It was my first time attending my husband’s office party, but I never thought I’d run across his other “wife” there.

Jennifer’s curiosity was piqued when she found an email inviting her husband, Oliver, to a New Year’s party—with a plus-one listed as “your wife.” His company never allowed guests, yet he denied the invitation existed. Suspicious, she decided to attend the party herself.

At the venue, Jennifer was shocked to hear Oliver had already arrived—with his “real wife.” She spotted him, laughing intimately with another woman. Heartbroken, she left without confrontation, determined to move on.

The next morning, a hospital called—Oliver had been in a car accident. At his bedside, he pleaded for forgiveness, but Jennifer had seen enough. When told his insurance had lapsed, she coldly informed him that his “real wife” should handle it.

Days later, Oliver called again—his mistress had abandoned him. Jennifer simply told him to face the consequences and blocked his number.

In the weeks that followed, Oliver’s life unraveled, but Jennifer felt free. She pursued long-forgotten passions, finally living for herself. No longer just Oliver’s wife—Jen was stepping into her own life.
