I’m a quiet neighbor—keep to myself, don’t cause trouble. But Elena pushed me. Trash bins in my driveway, loud comments about people “not belonging,” and finally—one of my planters shattered near her yard. That’s when I snapped.
I put up a sign: “MY NEIGHBOR IS A KAREN.”
She laughed and warned me: “You have no idea what you’ve started.”
The next day, a note appeared by my aloe: “Check your security footage. Midnight.”
At 12:03 a.m., a hooded figure stared into my camera and left the note. Elena was watching from her window.
Then things escalated. My mail stopped. Someone filed a fake address change. I found strange red-marked stakes in my yard. Creepy stuff.
Turns out, Elena was once HOA president—resigned after a scandal involving illegal dog breeding. I dug it all up, printed the proof, and sent it anonymously to the neighbors.
Everything changed. People started talking to me again. Elena disappeared from view.
She later came to my door, admitted she used control to cope after losing her husband, and warned me: “This neighborhood eats people like us.”
I just said, “Then maybe the rules need to change.”
The next morning, another note appeared: “You win.”
Not revenge. Just peace.
She thought she could scare me.
But she messed with the wrong neighbor.
