After spending a year working on an oil pipeline in Alaska, Kyle Greenbecker was finally coming home to his beloved wife, Lisa

Kyle and Lisa met in high school and married young, with Kyle proud that Lisa was his only love. He trusted her completely and never imagined she’d doubt him.

After a trip, Kyle returned home to find Lisa missing. A bassinet sat on the kitchen table, a baby inside, and two notes: one from an unknown writer blaming Kyle for the child, and another from Lisa, accusing him of cheating and announcing she’d filed for divorce. Kyle was stunned—he’d never been unfaithful.

With no other choice, Kyle took responsibility for the baby girl, whom he named Lily. He fumbled through diaper changes and learned as he went, growing attached to her. He registered Lily as his daughter and settled into life as a single dad.

Two years later, a woman named Cherish showed up, claiming Lily was hers and demanding the baby back. She admitted leaving Lily with Kyle while stoned and now wanted custody, hoping to benefit financially from her boyfriend Burt’s new sports contract.

Kyle refused, warning her to leave. But the battle ended in court, where Kyle’s love for Lily was clear. The judge ruled in his favor, officially granting him custody.

That night, Kyle and Lily celebrated under the stars—his daughter, his brightest light.
