At our daughter Ava’s first birthday, my mother-in-law, Sandra, handed Jason a DNA test kit—clearly questioning Ava’s paternity—and gave me a gym voucher to mock my post-baby body. Stunned and fed up, I dropped a truth bomb: Jason’s late father once confided that Sandra had an affair, and Jason’s biological dad is actually her brother-in-law, Robert.
