Lisa’s son Mike couldn’t stop talking about his new friend, Sophie. Curious, Lisa agreed to meet Sophie’s mom—but was shocked to find Alice, her high school rival.
Though tense at first, Lisa hoped this new connection would be good for Mike and maybe for herself too. Mike and Sophie grew close, but then Lisa got a call from school: Mike was accused of bullying Sophie.
Alice, once Lisa’s enemy, pushed the claim hard, blaming Lisa for not watching her son. Lisa was furious but tried to stay calm. The school warned Mike could be expelled if it continued.
After a few stressful days, Alice surprised Lisa by showing up to apologize. She admitted lying about the bullying because of jealousy and personal struggles—she’d left a bad marriage and was raising Sophie alone.
Lisa and Alice tentatively began rebuilding their friendship, realizing they both had endured pain and hardship. Their shared experiences might be the start of something new.
