Mo and her husband, Alex, host a housewarming to celebrate their new apartment, which they bought with help from Mo’s parents as a wedding gift. The evening is filled with good food and laughter, but things take a turn when Alex’s mother, Barbara, suggests that Mo’s apartment should be given to her daughter Katie, a single mother in need of housing. Shockingly, Alex supports his mother’s idea, suggesting they move in with Barbara so Katie can take over the apartment.
Mo is taken aback, but before they can proceed, Mo’s parents reveal they’ve anticipated this. The apartment is in Mo’s name alone, protected by a prenup that ensures anything purchased with her parents’ help remains hers. Mo’s father firmly declares that no one will take from his daughter, and he makes it clear Alex’s actions have proven he’s not trustworthy.
A week later, Alex asks to meet Mo, admitting his mistake. However, Mo can’t forget how easily Alex sided with his family and tried to give away her home without discussing it with her. She chooses to move on, knowing that love alone can’t repair the trust that was broken.
