I discovered my wife was on a dating app, so I made a fake profile to check if it was really her. To my shock, we matched and started flirting for a few days. When I asked for a photo, she sent one from when she was 20—one of our first pictures together—but cropped me out.
That night, I came home to find her crying on the bed. She gave me her wedding ring and said she wanted to leave because she’d been unhappy for a long time. I told her I already knew about the app—and that I was the one she’d been chatting with.
She looked surprised for a moment, then said it didn’t change anything. She’d made up her mind months ago. She admitted she’d been unhappy for nearly two years and couldn’t pretend anymore.
I was speechless. There were no big fights, just small signs I’d missed. Looking back, I see how far apart we’d grown—and it hurts, knowing I was still holding on while she had already let go.
