Sandra and Andrew met in culinary school and bonded over their shared love of Italian cuisine and heritage. After graduating together, they opened a small restaurant, got married, and had a son, Matteo. As their business grew in popularity, they found it hard to juggle parenting and work, so they hired their neighbor’s daughter, Anthea, to care for Matteo after daycare.
At first, everything seemed fine, but Sandra received a call from Matteo’s daycare teacher, who noticed he became upset whenever Anthea picked him up. Concerned, Sandra and Andrew gently questioned Matteo, but he insisted everything was fine, though Sandra sensed otherwise. To be sure, they followed Anthea one day and were shocked to find her neglecting Matteo while she focused on herself inside the house.
They immediately fired Anthea and, with help from Matteo’s teacher, hired a professional nanny named Gabriella. Matteo quickly bonded with Gabriella, who was caring and attentive. Eventually, she began bringing Matteo to the restaurant at closing time, and it became a cherished family tradition to share a meal together each night.
