That was how it was with Liam, my husband of three years. I never doubted him—until his birthday shattered my faith.
He told me he had an urgent work trip on his birthday and promised we’d celebrate later. But when I spoke to my mom, she and I went shopping for her friend’s baby shower. While walking down the street, we saw Liam and my best friend, Mandy, in a restaurant—too close for comfort.
My world crashed. Liam lied about his trip, and Mandy was the one he was spending his time with. Shocked and betrayed, I tried to think of a plan to expose them.
My mom and I set up a trap: A fake pregnancy test, hidden nanny cams, and a dinner invite for Mandy and Steve. When the time came, I revealed the “pregnancy” and told them the baby was Steve’s.
Everything blew up. Steve was furious, Mandy and Liam were exposed, and the truth came out. Steve had the prenup, and Mandy’s future was in jeopardy. Liam, too, was left with nothing.
Though devastated, I felt justice for myself and Steve.
