A 6-Month-Old Dog Was Found Alone with Bullet Wounds on Christmas Day. Now, He Is Looking for His Forever Home

A young dog named Scooter is searching for a forever home after surviving a heartbreaking ordeal. On Christmas Day 2024, the six-month-old pup was found alone on a rural road in Nashville, suffering from gunshot wounds and dragging his paralyzed back legs. According to the nonprofit Wags and Walks, Scooter had endured severe trauma and clearly “experienced the worst of humans.”

Scooter’s injuries were so severe that Wags and Walks stepped in to provide the specialized care he needed. A medical examination confirmed he had been shot, with pellets still lodged in his body. Sadly, the damage left him permanently paralyzed in his hind legs, and he is not expected to regain full mobility.

Despite his condition, Scooter is now healing and thriving in a loving foster home. With the support of a wheelchair, physical therapy, and unwavering care, he’s learned to play fetch, explore his surroundings, and even take a few steps on his own. “His determination, joy, and loving spirit shine through every day,” the rescue shared. Now, Wags and Walks is hoping to find a permanent, compassionate home for Scooter—one where he can continue to live a full and happy life.
