My Father Abandoned Me as a Child and I Took Revenge on Him

After a long, exhausting day, Amanda returned to her modest childhood home — her only sanctuary filled with memories of her late mother. After aging out of foster care, she had reclaimed it, seeing it as her final link to her past.

One evening, Amanda found a newspaper on her doorstep. Flipping through it, she was shocked to see her estranged father, Robert, announcing his engagement to a young woman named Clara. The sight reopened old wounds from when he had abandoned Amanda and her sick mother.

Fueled by anger, Amanda devised a plan. She snuck into Robert’s house through an open window, planted one of her late mother’s earrings on his bed, and later accused him of betrayal in front of Clara. Her actions led Clara to call off the wedding.

However, Amanda later learned that Robert and Clara had still married in a lavish ceremony. Reflecting on her mother’s advice about the burden of anger, Amanda realized revenge hadn’t eased her pain. She decided to seek real closure.

Amanda returned to Robert’s house, revealing the truth: she was his daughter. Overcome with emotion, Robert confessed his deep regrets about abandoning his family, explaining his years of shame and mistakes.

Hearing his side, Amanda forgave him — not to erase the past, but to free herself from the weight of resentment. Together, they took the first steps toward healing their broken bond.
