My Daughter Completely Forgot About My 90th Birthday – I’ve Spent It Alone Until Doorbell Rang – My Story

I’m Patty, and at 90 years old, I can say I’ve had a blessed life. Since my husband’s passing, it’s just been me and my daughter, Angie. I was excited for my 90th birthday, hoping to spend it with Angie and my grandkids.

But as the day went on and Angie didn’t call, I began to worry. Eventually, just as I thought I’d be alone, the doorbell rang. To my surprise, it was John, my son-in-law, with flowers and gifts.

John and I spent the day cooking and chatting. He asked about Angie, and when I told him she wasn’t coming, he called her. It turned out Angie, her new boyfriend, and the kids were on vacation—something she hadn’t told me. I was heartbroken and disappointed.

Later, Angie apologized, promising to visit soon, but the hurt lingered. As her mother, I’ll always love her, but I couldn’t help feeling deeply hurt by her thoughtlessness.
