Mark stood by his truck, exhausted after a long day of deliveries. “I can’t believe I lost that bet,” he muttered.
Trevor, grinning, jumped out of his car. “You promised to shave your head if I won at darts. I won, fair and square.”
Mark sighed. “Yeah, yeah. Happy birthday to me.”
Inside the barbershop, Mark reluctantly agreed to the buzz cut. As he dozed off in the chair, he woke to the barber saying, “You didn’t mention the tattoo on the back of your head.”
Mark was confused, but sure enough, a barcode tattoo with numbers and symbols was visible. He didn’t know how it got there.
Later, back at his apartment, Mark showed his friends the photo of the barcode. Maya realized the numbers looked like GPS coordinates. The group went to the woods, following the coordinates. After digging, they uncovered a rusted box with a note inside.
Trevor burst out laughing as Mark read: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY! THIS IS A PRANK, BRO!”
The box contained a toy truck, root beer, and a razor—items from Mark’s past at the shelter.
“You guys did this?” Mark asked, shocked.
Trevor explained the whole prank, from the fake tattoo to the GPS coordinates. Mark laughed, realizing his friends had pulled off an elaborate joke.
“Happy birthday, bro,” Trevor said, clapping him on the back.
