I confronted Wyatt about our finances, accusing him of hiding something. I couldn’t understand where our money was going, especially since I wasn’t working due to my health condition. He insisted he was doing his best, but I still had doubts.
Wyatt and I had fought before, especially over his brother Dawson and his wife, Faye, who had once refused to help us when we were nearly homeless. Faye had also belittled me at a family gathering, criticizing my health issues and finances. I had hoped things would improve, but I still felt something was off.
One night, I followed Wyatt after he told me he was working late. To my shock, I saw him parking at Faye’s house, where she greeted him warmly. I thought the worst—was he cheating on me with her? But then I saw the babies in her arms, and everything changed. I demanded answers, and Wyatt explained that the babies weren’t his, but Faye and Dawson’s.
Faye then revealed the truth: Dawson had been arrested, his shady work dealings had ruined their finances, and Wyatt had been helping them. Faye had two babies and had been struggling financially after Dawson’s betrayal. I had been blaming Wyatt for our own financial struggles, not knowing he had been supporting his brother’s family.
