Anna would never forget that spring day. As she prepared for her wedding, her friends teased her about Viktor’s family and his occasional drinking, but she dismissed their concerns. At twenty, deeply in love, Viktor seemed perfect—handsome, successful, and charming. However, the cracks began to show after their marriage.
Viktor’s occasional drunkenness spiraled into outbursts after Anna became pregnant. His apologies were short-lived, and his behavior grew worse, eventually leading to his neglect during their daughter Marina’s birth. The following years were filled with struggle, as Viktor’s alcoholism and abusive behavior took a toll on their marriage. Despite Anna’s best efforts, including a job to support their family, their home became a battleground.
After an outburst at Marina’s sixth birthday party, Anna’s desperation led her to defend herself with a crystal vase, leaving Viktor wounded. This act resulted in Anna’s prison sentence, and Marina was raised by her grandparents.
Twenty years later, Marina had built her own family, finding strength and love despite her past. After reuniting with her estranged mother, Anna, through forgiveness, Marina learned that true family isn’t built by blood but by resilience, compassion, and the courage to forgive.
